Among the thousands of students passing out from Vidya Bharati schools each year one thing is common and that is their love for their motherland and sense of service towards their society.

Sarika Nande, an alumni from Jashpur Nagar, Chhattisgarh is one such young woman who has recently been appointed to the post of Civil Judge and has pledged a life of service. She took out time for a short interview with Vidya Bharati alumni portal team which has been given below.

Interviewer: Please share with us details about your academic and professional background

Sarika Nande: I am an alumni of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Jashpur Nagar from where I had completed my schooling till 12th standard. Afterwards I did my BA LLB degree from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar in 2017. Since then I have been preparing to crack the examination to become a Civil Judge. Recently in 2019, I was able to crack the examination by securing 12th Rank. Presently I am undergoing training, before taking up my responsibilities officially.

Interviewer: Why did you decide to become a Judge?

Sarika Nande: Since a very young age I wanted to pursue a legal career so I had taken up law during my higher studies. My maternal uncle is a Judge and he has inspired me to try this profession.

Interviewer: What suggestion would you give to any Vidya Bharati student who wants to follow a similar career path?

Sarika Nande: One of the most important things to remember for any Civil Judge aspirant, is that they should be prepared to work extremely hard and devote regular hours of study. The Competition is tough in this field. One has to have self-confidence and faith in one’s own abilities.  They should not only prepare academically but also be prepared to face the interviews and be in touch with current affairs in both legal and world news.

Interviewer: Apart from your work, are you associated with any kind of social work?

Sarika Nande: Though till now I was not able to devote much time towards social work, once everything settles down, I plan to do something in the education sector, as I feel that proper education can change the life of any individual for better.

Interviewer: How did your school impact your life?

Sarika Nande:  During my school days, our teachers made sure that all of us received a sound academic knowledge base. We were also encouraged to learn the importance of discipline, service and responsibility towards our society. I feel that all these have had an impact on the way I think and act and will help me in my career as well.

Interviewer: Would you like to give any message to Vidya Bharati students?

Sarika Nande:  The only message that I would like to give them is that work hard and keep your future goals in mind. Have faith in your own abilities no matter which career you plan to pursue and serve others in whichever way you can.

Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra Parishad thanks Sarika Nande for taking out time from her busy schedule to share her journey with the community. We wish her all the best for her future endeavours.
