Shivam Skalleey, a Government Job aspirant, has grown up seeing his father serving the country as a government employee, and felt that it was the right course of action as well, especially in the present economic context. Recently he talked about his story via an interview, whose brief extract has been given below:
Interviewer: Please tell us something about your academic and professional background.
Shivam: I have studied till class 12 at S.V.M Sen. Sec Timarni and then did graduation in B. Com from Timarni College. After graduation I started to work for Ashok Leyland in Bhopal. Recently I have left my job and am preparing for governmental competitive examinations.
Interviewer: What made you leave your job and decide to sit for competitive examinations?
Shivam: While working I realised that the hollow corporate jobs are not for me. My father is a government employee working for the forest department and I have grown up seeing him and felt that it was the right course of action for me personally. It would give me stability that in the recent global scenario where private jobs don't offer much security. Furthermore I realised instead of serving the big companies for their benefits, why don’t I serve my country by working for the government. So presently I am trying for governmental jobs.
Interviewer: Would you like to give any suggestions to students who want to sit for Governmental exams?
Shivam: From my own experiences, I can advise the students to choose a certain direction and work to crack the exams in that field only, instead of trying for different sectors of competitive exams. This will help you to focus, gain experience and increase the chances of success.
Interviewer: Tell us something about your experience at school
Shivam: Like any alumni, I would say that it was probably one of my best experiences so far in life. Apart from academics, all students were encouraged to participate in different extracurricular activities and sports as per their interest. I was good at sports and was part of the under 19 Kabaddi team participating in National school games. I still keep in touch with my school on a regular basis.
Interviewer: Would you like to share any parting message with the Vidya Bharati students?
Shivam: The only message that I would like to share with them is that - follow your dreams, work hard and remember the lessons taught to you by your teachers.
