Many times the ups and downs of life become especially hard for certain individuals, but only a few are able to emerge from their hardships and live life on their own terms. Anshul Jain is one such youth, who have not only emerged stronger from his struggles but now is helping other students realize their dreams.

Anshul is an alumni of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where he had studied till class 10. After that he had shifted to Kendriya Vidyalaya Dhar to complete his schooling. He shifted to Indore and got admitted to Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research and did his graduation in Engineering (Electronics and communication).

Anshul was on the verge of following his dreams and start working in the engineering sector, when personal tragedy stuck, with the death of both his parents. He was forced to leave his dreams and come back home to take care of all the official matter that had to be taken care of, after the sudden demise of his parents. He also had a younger school going brother back home. His father worked under the tribal development sector of Madhya Pradesh Govt. and was liable to get compensation and a job. As he waited for the same, the fiercely independent youth started giving tuitions to earn money.  Presently as he still waits for Gov. Job, he has started working as Atal Tinkering Lab in charge at his childhood school.

Anshul’s engineering background made him a perfect candidate to groom and guide young students who showed interest and talent in the field. Atal Tinkering Lab is an approach of the Central government of India which aims to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation, creativity among Indian Students. ATL helps to teach students essential 21st-century skills which will in turn help them in developing their professional and personal skills. It is completely voluntary and made for students who wished to further skills in different fields of innovation and technology. Anshul stated that though the lab is located in Vidya Bharati School, any child can come there to study and experiment, as mandated by the government.

Anshul is presently grooming the 1st batch of interested students along with the school authorities to reach the level where they can take part in state and national level competitions and exhibitions.  The students mainly belong to lower middle or lower sections of the society and financially are not very strong. In normal circumstances they would not have been able to afford to hone their skills outside but it pleases Anshul to see them get the opportunity to get closer to their dreams with the help of ATL.

He also pointed out that when he was young, there was lack of career guidance and to identify one’s talent lay in which branch of engineering. It resulted in many students taking up unsuitable specializations, but now the students can experiment through ATL’s and identify their interest.

Talking about his school, he said that his school has helped him to become a strong person and ready to face life’s challenges. Presently he has seen that many students, especially from influential families opt to study in English medium schools, so he hopes that the trend can be reversed in the future.

Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra Parishad thanks Anshul Jain for sharing his inspirational journey and wishes him all the best for his future.
