Hailing from a farming family in Bihar, Vidya Bharati alumnus of Keshav Saraswati Uchchatar Madhyamik Vidya Mandir, Rudrapur, Abhay Chaurasia is PhD student of Banaras Hindu University. Recently he shared his journey with the Vidya Bharati portal team via a short interview, whose excerpt is as follows:

Interviewer: Please tell us something about your academic background.

Abhay:  Going back I started my journey as a student from Keshav Saraswati Uchchatar Madhyamik Vidya Mandir, Rudrapur, where I studied till class 10 and then completed 12th from intermediate college. I did my graduation and master’s degree from BHU and presently doing PhD in Library and Information Science from the same.

Interviewer: What made you take up this subject?

Abhay: I was always interested in the analytical part of information studies. Though initially I wanted to go into computer and information technology, I was unable to do so. Thus I took up this subject, which interests me a lot.

Interviewer:  Can you tell us about your family a bit?

Abhay: I am a resident of Champaran district in Bihar. My father is a farmer and I have 2 brothers, who are both working and well settled.

Interviewer:  Are you involved with any kind of social service?

Abhay: Being a Vidya Bharati student it is imperative that social service is an integral part of my life. Presently here in Varanasi, I am associated with ‘Varanasi blood point’, where I am a member. Our prime objective is to collect blood from different areas and then provide the local hospitals as per their need. We serve most of the biggest hospitals in the area.

Interviewer:  Would you like to give any message to your school?

Abhay: The only thing that comes to my mind is how grateful I am to study in an institution where so much importance is given to ‘Sanatan Dharma’. It is this respect for our heritage that binds all the schools together and keeps the knowledge alive among the next generation. I am also indebted to by teachers and am very close to them. I try to visit my school whenever I go back to my native place.

Vidya Bharati Purv  Chatra Parishad thanks Abhay Chaurasia for sharing his thoughts with the community and we wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
