No charity is complete if it is not at the same time intellectual, spiritual and, above all, loving, for the very essence of charity is love. Subir Kumar Pati looks at the world with an eye of compassion, understands the pain of people in need through a loving heart and finds a solution for their agony through an intellectual mind.
A research scholar in Chemistry, Subir is an alumnus of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Balubazar, where he studied till class 7th and Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Tulasipur, where he studied from class 8th to 10th. Being a bright student since his school days, Subir completed his graduation in Chemistry by securing a 4th rank in the whole state of Odisha. He then went on to complete his Master’s degree in Chemistry again by securing a 2nd rank in the entrance examination.
Subir has more than 3 years of experience in the areas of Nanomaterials, Electrochemistry, Supercapacitors, Corrosion resistance, Coatings & Solar fuel generation from institutes like IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and CSIR - Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology. Subir does research in Physical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry and Energy storage. He has been selected to do his PhD in Chemistry from South Korea.
“I will always remain indebted to my school and my teachers for receiving a value-added education”, Subir remarked.
Besides his extraordinary achievements in the field of Chemistry, Subir is also known for his philanthropic acts. He runs an NGO called Sneha Foundation (www.snehafoundationodisha.org) - an organization with the motto of “LIVE FOR OTHERS”. The NGO is dedicated to helping Orphans & Orphanages, Child Education and Plantation in different areas of Odisha. This 1 year old initiative has over 150 members, and has successfully completed 30 events at different Orphanages in 8 Districts of Odisha. They have also been working to provide ration to corona and cyclone affected families.
“Before the cyclone we provided 1 quintal ration to a blind school. That apart we provide study and sports materials to orphan ages, organize tree plantation programs and distribute food to the poor”, mentioned Subir.
Subir also runs a publication called Subharambh Publication House (www.subharambhpublicationhouse.com). Through this initiative he supports writers, both new and experienced, to publish their books at affordable prices.
Those who accomplish the work are not in the habit of boasting. They keep their energy for the task and leave the glory of the results to the Eternal Lord. So does Subir, when he talks about the teachers of his schools and his parents.
“I want to thank Shri Pratap Kumar Mohapatra ji, Pradhan Acharya of Balubazar School and Shri Narayan Sarangi, Pradhan Acharya of Tulasipur School, also all the Gurujis and Gurumas of both my schools, for their guidance and blessings, because of which I am able to do something for this society today”. He also adds, “The relentless sacrifice and support of my parents Sailendra Kumar Pati and Tilottama Pati has shaped my life”.
