Since his school days, Rishi Dwivedi, an alumnus of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Arya, Kanpur had a deep desire to serve his country and realized that one of the ways to gain his goal is to join administrative services. The quest to his aim has not been an easy one, but he chose to never give up. Recently he sat down for a short interview to share his story.
Rishi has grown up in a business family, where both his father and brother are associated with family business, but he never felt the inclination to do the same. While studying in Saraswati Shishu Mandir, he learnt the importance of taking up the responsibility of serving one’s country and society. Growing up he aimed to take up a profession that helped him to fulfill his duty towards his nation.
After passing out from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, where he studied till class eight, Rishi completed his 12th from Jai Narayan Vidya Mandir Inter College in 2007. After HS he took a 1 year gap to prepare for GATE examination, where he secured an all India rank of 879. Later he completed his graduation from BBDNITM Lucknow in engineering.
In the year 2015, he got a job offer from Prachar Bharathi, Doordarshan, Delhi, as well as The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), but he chose to stay in Doordarshan. While working he sat for UPSC examination but sadly his hopes were dashed when he was unable to crack the final round for only 16 marks.
Finally in 2016, Rishi was able to get one step closer to his lifelong dream and started working as Minister of Commerce class 1 gazetted officer in Kolkata. Presently while working, he is also preparing for the Civil Service Exam.
As Rishi continues on his journey towards serving his nation through administrative services, he continues to fulfill his obligations towards his society through several social work. Since his college days he has been associated with several charitable projects, such as donation of food and blankets to those in need, plantation drives, Swachh Bharat mission, as well as making regular financial donations. Recently he donated 15000 Rs for development of a primary school in Nauli gaon in Araiya.
While speaking about the impact of his school on his life, Rishi fondly explained that the values and ideologies taught to him during his school days has helped him to become closer to his culture and learn the importance of serving one’s country. During these days he also found his idol in Shri Swami Vivekananda, and hopes to follow the path shown by him by bringing positivity into the lives of people around him.
Rishi Dwivedi is truly an exceptional youth with high values and ideology. Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra Parishad wishes him the best in all his future endeavours.
