Vidya Bharati as an institution is well known across the country for delivering quality education crucial for comprehensive development of its students. Although several large and well known schools operate under its umbrella, one of the main aims of Vidya Bharati is to provide education to children in those areas, where other educational institutions are unable to reach.
Thus it has schools running in remote villages, urban slums and national border areas. Most of us are aware of acute difficulties of successfully running schools in such areas, which are marred by lack of basic facilities and economic difficulties, while maintaining the quality of education provided. One such example is Tripureswari Shishu Mandir, Madhubari Link Road, Padmapur, Dharmanagar in Tripura.
Established in the year 2000, the school is located at approximately 5 hrs distance from Ragna border (Bangladesh India border). 200 students from nearby Radhapur, Krishnapur and Padmapur areas come to study in this school, which consist of Nursery to 8th standard (9th and 10th will be started soon). It is affiliated to Tripura Board of Secondary Education. The entire school is spread across two buildings, one of which consists of 2 floors and another consists of 1 floor housing 11 classrooms.
Despite facing numerous obstacles arising from lack of adequate funds, the school maintains consistent quality in education and encourages the students to participate in sports, social service and other vital extracurricular activities.
The school also conducts regular health check-ups for the students and parents in association with several NGOs.
While speaking about the school, Shri Gauranga Chandra Nath explained that the school requires new classrooms to be constructed in order to incorporate growing numbers of students, as well as requiring more sporting facilities and are trying their best to accumulate the required funds. But no matter the challenges faced, the school committee does its best to follow every ideals, aims and values that Vidya Bharati schools are known for.
Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra Parishad acknowledges the never dying spirit of all the teachers, staff and committee members who give their best to provide their students with the best education and values possible.
