Being able to serve one’s motherland and society is a matter of pride - Sri Vishal Singla,Class 1 Gazetted officer under Punjab Government recently sat down for an interview with Vidya Bharati alumni portal team to share his journey. A short excerpt of the same has been given below.
Interviewer: Can you share with us your academic and professional journey so far?
Mr. Singla: Till my class 10th boards examination, I have been a student of Shri Hitabhilashi Sarvhitkari Senior Secondary School Budhlada and then continued my education at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering & Technology, from where I did my B. Tech degree in chemical engineering.
Professionally, after graduation, I worked in Pidilite industries Ltd in Himachal Pradesh for 1 year from 2006 to 2007. From 2007 to 2012, I worked at Electronics Corporation of India limited Hyderabad.
Although I was working, I always wanted to work for the government. In 2012, fortunately I was selected in Punjab Public Service Commission examination and has been working since as class 1 gazetted officer under the Punjab Government. Presently I am posted in Moga. I hold the post of Deputy Director of Factory and in charge of providing safety training to industrial workers.
Interviewer: Can you share something about your family?
Mr. Singla: My father, the late Shri Devraj Singla was a businessman and ran his own business. My mother Mrs Nirmala Devi is a homemaker.
Interviewer: Tell us something about your experience at your school.
Mr. Singla: It was during my schooling days that I understood the importance of serving my society and the love for my country developed. I also learnt discipline and dedication to one’s work, which has helped me to achieve my goals.
I still remember the late Gurvinder mam who was our school principal. She always encouraged us to study well. Her caring nature is remembered still. I will always be thankful to my school and all my teachers.
