Established in the year 1981 in a ‘Gurukulam’ model by Mananeeya Shri. A V Bhaskerji, Vyasa Vidya Peethom has developed into one of  the leading institutions of Kerala state.

Vyasa Vidya Peethom, as an educational institution was started as part of ‘Bharatheeya Vidya Nikethan’, in effort to propagate the ideals of Vidya Bharati, the largest non-governmental educational institution in India. The School is managed by ‘Vyasa Vidya Peethom society’ registered  under the provisions of Act XXI of 1860. 

The School stands on an extensive elevated campus of 26 acres on the Palakkad Shornur road at Kallekkad, located against an impressive backdrop of Western Ghats and Kalpathy river.  The campus consists of its own school building, play ground, full fledged Atal Tinkari Lab, computer lab, well stocked library, digitized Classrooms, and separate hostels for boys and girls. The school also has a fleet of school buses for safe and easy transportation of non resident students.

The school believes in the The ‘Panchagasikshan’ philosophy of education that encompasses Sanskrit, Music, Yoga, sports and ‘Naithik’ or cultural education as a part of the educational curriculum. Students are given training in Kalaripayattu (martial arts) and cultural education. Regular personality development programmes are conducted for all students. Exposure is given to a wide range of co-curricular activities with the aim to facilitate the child in developing a balanced personality.  Practice of Yoga, teaching of spiritual texts, introduction to lives of great Indian Patriots etc are given equal importance along with regular academics.

Like all Vidya Bharati schools, immense importance is given towards the development of the mindset of social service among the students. As part of social service activities, the school mobilises donated funds from teachers and students to provide financial support to the poor and downtrodden people in tribal areas through the ‘sevanidhi’ collection. Fund and materials are also collected to help the victims of natural disasters in times of crisis. Yearly visits to orphanages are encouraged to inspire the students and build up their philanthropic instincts.  

The students of the school have proved themselves in the fields sports and academics as well. The children are encouraged to participate in different forms of competitions as per their interest. Several students have demonstrated their merit in sports by winning in state and national level championships. The academic performance of the students in board examinations are consistently excellent as well, with several students receiving more than 90% each year. Last year in 2019, the state 2nd rank holder in 12th board examinations was also a student of  the school.
