The economic growth of a country not only depends on natural resources, technology and capital but mainly on the quantity and quality of manpower. Out of all the required elements needed in creation of good human resource, education is probably the most important.
There are numerous non governmental organizations working hand in hand with the Indian government in this sector. In spite of so much effort and positive landmarks created, Indian educational development still remains lacking.
Insufficient funds, costly higher education, neglect of Indian languages, brain drain, lower quality of education and mass illiteracy are few of the hurdles in the path of educational advancement of our country.
Prashant Tiwari an alumnus of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Bharatgarh Datia, Madhya Pradesh has been working in the field of education since the year 2016. He is a member of ‘Impact Foundation’, an organization that provides tuition classes, books and other educational aids for free to needy children in rural areas in Datia District of Madhya Pradesh.
Once Prashant came across few children who where trying to educate themselves under a tree without the help of any teachers as they did not have enough money to pay for tuition or school fees. The determination of the children to gain knowledge in spite of their troubles had a great impact on Prasant and he decided to help such children to the best of his abilities.
The Impact Foundation with its 20 member team presently support the education of 60 students. They provide regular tuition classes and required education aids to the children. Along with educational support the team also celebrate Indian Festivals and other important occasion with the children, which Prasant feels are equally important for the mental and social development of the children.
Prasant is a firm believer that small steps can lead to great impact. He hopes that he will be able to install the same positivity and strength of character among the children that he had received during his childhood from his teachers.
