Shrimati Nabanita Chatterjee, an alumnus of Ladhuram Toshniwal Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Cossimbazar, is a doctor by profession. Recently she shared her experiences via a short interview.

Nabanita passed class IV from Ladhuram Toshniwal Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Cossimbazar, in the year 2003. After this, she went to Maharani Kashiswari Girls HS, Behrampur, to complete her 12th in the year 2011, where she secured 5.8th rank in West Bengal Joint exam.  She completed her MBBS degree from SSM Hospital in the year 2018. After her studies, she worked in a nursing home for approximately two years. Recently, in 2020, January, she joined hospital in Dhubulia, Krishnanagar, Nadia, as a Doctor.

During the current pandemic situation she has been responsible for treatment of several Covid patients risking her life each and every day. Due to her duties she has not been able to visit her family for the past 3 months. There is an increased risk of spreading the virus among others as she is in daily contact with Covid patients. She has been taking precautions and trying to keep herself safe as much as she can.

Nabanita originally hails from Behrampur, Cooch where she stays with her parents and sister. Her father is a Govt High School teacher.

Nabanita said that she has always been aware of her responsibility towards her society and country and is happy that through her profession she is finally serving others. Many times she treats needy patients for free of cost as it is her duty as a doctor.

While speaking with Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra team, Nabanita stated that she often misses her school and teachers. She is in touch with a few of her teachers on social media. She feels that her school and teachers have had a huge contribution towards making her the person that she is today.
