Shri Somshubhra Bhanja is an alumnus of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Gopali Ashram, West Bengal, where he studied till class 5. Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra portal team sat down for an interview with him, which has been given below:
Interviewer: Kindly tell us something about your professional and academic background.
Mr. Bhanja: I am an alumnus of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Gopali Ashram. I passed my class 5 from the school in the year 2002 and after that I had gone to Hijli high School, Kharagpur, from where I passed my 12th in the year 2009.
After my schooling, I have done my graduation in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering and Management, Kolaghat in the year 2013. After completing graduation, I was placed in TCS, Kolkata where I have worked from 2014 to 2015, as an Assistant System Engineer. Then I shifted to IIT Kharagpur in 2016, as a Technical Assistant and worked there till 2018, January. Presently I am working in Govt Polytechnic College, Haldia, as a Lecturer from 2018.
Interviewer: Kindly tell us something about your family background.
Mr. Bhanja: I stay in West Bengal with my parents and brother. My father is Principal in Saraswati Shishu Mandir.
Interviewer: Are you associated with any kind of social work?
Mr. Bhanja: Since childhood I have been taught to think about and serve others before oneself by my teachers and my parents. I am well aware of my social responsibilities as a citizen and as a human being. So I joined RSS and became involved with a multitude of different social work RSS done by the organisation.
Interviewer: Do you want to say something about your school or Vidya Bharati in general?
Mr. Bhanja: My father has been associated with Vidya Bharati for most of his life, so I grew up in a household that followed the principles of Vidya Bharati.Getting the opportunity to study under Vidya Bharati strengthened my core moral values, connected me to my country’s culture and helped me to lead a disciplined lifestyle.
As a student I got ample chance to participate in extracurricular activities such as yoga and sports, alongside excellent academics.
It was my school that taught and inspired me to serve my society and my country. It helped me to give a new depth to my life, for which I am deeply thankful to all my teachers.
