In talks with Pritam Modak, an successful IT Professional and Vidya Bharati alumni from Siliguri district of West Bengal

Shri Pritam Modak, an alumnus of Sarada Sishu Teertha, Suryasen Colony located in Siliguri.  The IT professional located in Bangalore shared his story via a short interview, which has been given below.

Interviewer:  Kindly tell us something about your professional and academic background.

Mr. Modak : I am an alumnus of Sarada Sishu Teertha, Suryasen Colony, where I had studied till the 4th standard. Afterwards I joined Tarai Tarapadha Adarsh Vidyalaya and passed out my 12th in 2004. After my schooling, I have done my graduation in Computer Science from Bengal Institute of Technology and Management (BITM), Shantiniketan in the year 2008. 

Professionally,my first job was at  ZT Telecom, Kolkata as a R & D Engineer. I worked there from 2008 till 2013. In 2014, I joined Connscope, Bangalore as a Senior R & D Engineer in Product development and continuing still.

Interviewer:  Please tell us something about your family background.

Mr. Modak : I hail from Siliguri,West Bengal and presently staying in Bangalore with my wife who is working as a Senior Architect in Marx, Bangalore. My parents stay in Siliguri. My father is a Businessman.

Interviewer: Are you associated with any kind of social work? 

Mr. Modak : The early teachings that I had received from Vidya Bharati is still ingrained in my mind and I am aware of my social responsibility. I try and help out wherever it's necessary. Recently during the  Lockdown period I have donated financially, as well as helped the needy with food and basic essentials. During any natural calamity or national crysis, I raise relief funds through my network and donate.

Interviewer:  Do you want to say something about your school or Vidya Bharati in general?

Mr. Modak : I feel if the foundation of any student is as good as that of the students from Vidya Bharati, his/her  future will always be bright. The education from Vidya Bharati schools are not merely academic but development oriented. They not only concrete on the student’s knowledge but also towards mental and personality growth. 

It was my school that taught and inspired me to serve my society and my country. It helped me to give a new definition in life and for which I am very thankful to all my teachers.  All those fortunate enough to have studied under the institution, should never forget what Vidya Bharati has taught us about our nation and culture.
