Award winning teacher of Vidya Bharati, Shri Sandeep Chawla shares how his teaching methods have helped the students to realise their true potential

National level award winning educator and Vidya Bharati teacher from Haryana, Shri Sandeep Chawla has been contributing to the educational sector for the past 18 years and single handedly helped thousands of students towards achieving their academic goals. He holds degrees in  M.B.A, M.A (English), M.Phil (English) and  B.Ed.

Mr. Chawla has been a teacher of Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kurukshetra, Haryana since 2005. He is a postgraduate teacher in English as well as Business studies and has been in the profession for the last  17-18 years. 

Mr. Chawla believes that each and every child has a unique set of talents and potential and it's the responsibility of the teacher to identify them and help the students to nurture them. He tries to modify his teaching style according to the needs of his students and hence establishing a life long relationship of respect with his students, who stay connected with him even long after settling into their professional lives. His unorthodox teaching style has helped a large percentage of his students to score more than 90% in their board examinations.

Mr. Chawla considers teachers to be proponents of nation building. His dedication towards his profession has gained him Best Teacher Award in 2015, from Raah Foundation Hisar, Haryana where more than 2600 teachers had applied from all over India. Among all the applicants, only 11 teachers got selected for best teacher award and  Mr. Sandeep Chawla was one of them.

He thinks that in modern age, education should consist of a mixture of both theoretical and practical knowledge and hence he regularly organises trade fairs and industry visits for the students. He was the first teacher to introduce ‘Entrepreneurship’ as a subject in Vidya Bharti schools.

Along with being an accomplished educator, Mr. Chawla is a dedicated social worker as well. He has been involved in several social welfare projects, such as blood donation campaigns, rallies on ‘beti bachao beti padhao’, ‘swachata abhiyan’ to name a few.

Mr. Chawla thinks that the education provided in Vidya Bharati schools are the right mix of knowledge, extra curricular activities and values that is necessary for proper development of the students. Lastly he urged all teachers and parents to not judge the children based only on their academic performance, but to identify their unique talents and help them to develop to their highest potential.
