“No children should be devoid from education” - Shri Shailendra Verma
Driven by his dedication towards education, Mr. Shailendra Verma has been associated with Vidya Bharati for almost his entire life. He is an alumnus of Shastriya Utkrisht Uchcha Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Paulatganj, Ujjain, MP. He further went on to do his Phd in Sanskrit. He served as a teacher in Vidya Bharati school Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Rishi Nagar, Ujjain, for several years.
On asking him why he chose to be associated with Vidya Bharati for such a long period of time, Mr. Verma replied that from a very early age he was aware, how education is an important part of national growth and the academician felt that the format of education administered by Vidya Bharati schools are the most appropriate for all round development of the students, leading to more socially aware citizens. This prompted him to be a part of this association for so long and donate for the development of the schools as well.
Apart from Vidya Bharati schools, Mr. Verma is also associated with several NGO’s as well, such as :
Muskan Manav: The organisation provides education to children living in slum areas. They also provide food and medical support feeds poor people, provide medical support to needy people in these areas.
Sarthak Pahal: This association is associated with elderly education in rural areas
Virangana Jhalkari Seva Sangh: It provides health support and awareness regarding the necessity of education for girls.
According to Mr. Verma, he was inspired by the dedicated work of social worker, Shri Narbhuvan Joshi ji, who had visited his school once and had shared his experiences with the students. His school also proved to be a major influence behind him being associated with social work as well.
He wants to share the following message with the students of Vidya Bharati schools:
“Hum swayam prerna rakhe aur swayam udaharan bane”. He further feels that the motivation to work for the betterment of the society and the nation as a whole, should come from inside and not influenced by the greed for fame.
