Media as a medium of communication plays an important role in overall development of the society, by informing and spreading knowledge and creating awareness on various issues that are important for the society.
With this basic thought, Vidya Bharati has also been focusing on this and trying to procure information from the different regions. Specific persons have been designated to look after this work. Already, a number of publications are there, presence on the internet is also there and social media is being used.
To make our presence better and in a more professional manner, a three-day workshop on “Role of Mass Media and Communication” was organized by Vidya Bharati from 28th April to 30th April 2018 in New Delhi. In the various sessions, experts from the field were brought in to talk about the various aspects in detail. A visit to a local newspaper office and a TV news office were also visited to get an on the spot experience.
This was attended by 97 persons which included the Communication Chiefs (Prachar Pramukh), Correspondents, Magazine Editors and Prantiya Prabharis from different Prants.
There were a total of 13 experts from the media and our own seniors who conducted the different sessions and guided the participants.
The different sessions included were on Photojournalism, videography, social media, data mining, web publishing, panel discussions, debates etc. Some participants even got the opportunity to visit studios of Zee TV and the office of the daily newspaper Punjab Kesari to get an on the spot training.
The concluding session was taken by Sah-Sarkaryawah Dr Manmohan Vaidya.
