Vidya Bharati alumni P. Mukul Vyas and S. Sudhakar from Tamil Nadu come together to serve their society through health care.

Two Vidya Bharati alumni, P. Mukul Vyas and S. Sudhakar, of  Smt. Narabda Devi J Agarwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya Sr Sec School, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, for the past two years have been associated with social service, mainly in the healthcare sector.  Being students themselves, they spend most of their free time either planning and organising free medical or blood donation camps.

Since they actively started doing social work, they have successfully completed 13 major events in the last 2 years. The details of which are as follows:

• Free medical camp -  7th July 2018

Venue: Smt Narbada Devi J Agarwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Sec School Vyasarpadi Chennai.

They organised their 1st major event at their school where, 180 people underwent ECG and ECHO, 150 got  Dental Screening, 200 attendees got Orthopedic treatment, 55 people got Acupuncture treatment and 385 people received general health Checkup.

• Free medical camp -  15th July 2018

 Venue : Smt Narbada Devi J Agarwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Sec School Vyasarpadi Chennai.

Due to the huge success of the first medical camp, a second similar camp was organised within the month at the same venue.  On the day of the camp, 165 attendees were provided Cardiac screening, 121 received dental checkup , 355 people received eye checkup and 99 attendees received acupuncture treatments.

• Sanskar Kendra  and Guru Purrnima celebrations

Venue  : Smt Narbada Devi J Agarwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Sec School Vyasarpadi Chennai.

On  occasion of Guru Purrnima  P. Mukul Vyas and S. Sudhakar had provided stationary items to 300 students, sarees to 15 teachers and food to all 300 students and 15 teachers of their school as a mark of respect for their teachers.

• Free medical camp-  12th August 2018

Venue : Smt Kasturba Nimchand Shah P Muthyalu Chetty Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior sec school, Perambur, Chennai.

Similar to previous health camps, a total of 250 people benefited from the event. Along with the regular services, free spectacles were also distributed among the needy.

• Blood Donation Camp - 16th September 2018

Venue :  Smt Narbada Devi J Agarwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Sec School Vyasarpadi Chennai.

 The first donation camp organised by the duo, saw a huge success. During this camp 226 donors gave blood, 54 registered for eye donation and 52 attendees registered and pledged to become organ donors. 

Apart from the above mentioned events, the alumni duo has over the years organised  several other free medical camps at different venues such as :

• KC Toshniwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Sec School, Mathur, Chennai , 

• Smt Kasturaba Nimachand Shah P Muthyalu Chetty Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Sec School Perambur, Chennai,

• Smt Durga Prasad Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior sec School, Mel Ayanambakkam, and 

• Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Theeyampakkam.

Various other blood donation camps, religious festivals and food distribution camps were also organised by P. Mukul Vyas and S. Sudhakar over the time.

While speaking about their passion for social work,  both the alumni thanked their teacher Shri Ramachandran ji and their school for believing in them and extending full support towards their work.
