Eleven out of the 12 most polluted cities on a World Health Organization list is in India.A whopping nine in 10 people on Earth breathe highly polluted air, and more than 80 percent of urban dwellers have to endure outdoor pollution that exceeds health standards, according to the WHO, among which Indian Cities have a prominent place.
Fighting for environment protection has become the need of the hour and one man Lokendra Singh Bhadoria has taken up the challenge. The passion for protecting the environment had burned inside Lokendra, since his childhood days. According to him his school Saraswati Shishu Mandir Badalgarh fort, Gwalior was responsible for inspiring him and installing in him the need to protect the environment.
He is the founder of an NGO named ‘Manavta Yuva Foundation’ at Gwalior, which was established in 2017 and has 27 members. The organization’s main aim is to reduce the use of plastics and planting more trees through public awareness. They have planted more than 500 plants till now.
Apart from this they have also set up health camps at Saraswati Shishu Mandir and are planning to set up eye check up camp where 1000 people will be checked for free, by certified doctors .
We need more people like Lokendra Singh if we hope to make any impact towards reduction of pollution.
