Most of the Vidya Bharati alumni have a strong emotional connection with their schools, but in some instances the pull is so strong that they come back to serve their school. Such an exemplary story is that of Dr. Ram Manohar Gupta hailing from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Dr. Gupta had studied in Shree Balram Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Bassi, Jaipur till the 8th standard and did his higher schooling from Government school. After completion of his class 12 examination, he sat for pre medical examination and cleared it in his second attempt. After finishing his dental degree, he went on to establish his own dental hospital which he runs along with his dentist wife.
Along with being a devoted doctor, Mr. Gupta is a fervent social worker as well. He frequently organises dental camps in nearby villages and schools. He also conducts career counselling, motivational and educational camps for students.
Although the dental surgeon was well established in his career, he never lost touch with his school and soon enough his sense commitment urged him to join in the post of ‘vyavasthaapak’ at his school.
Shree Balram Adarsh Vidya Mandir, which is affiliated to Rajasthan board was established in 1982 and presently approximately 15000 students are studying in it. While talking about the school, Dr. Gupta was proud to mention that the students of the school constantly show excellent results in both academics, sports and other extracurricular activities. In fact during the last 10th board examinations approximately ten students received near or more than 90% marks.
He was also pleased to share that the school has developed immensely in the past years and has all the required infrastructure. Along with good academic education the students receive moral, social and cultural education as well, so that they can grow up to be ideal citizens of our country . Even the teachers are provided with regular training to keep them up to date.
Presently, Dr. Gupta is working towards modernisation of the school, which he hopes will help the school to scale new heights.
On being asked, what inspired him to rejoin his school, Dr. Gupta said, a large part of what he has been able to achieve in life, was due to the education that he had received during his school days and wanted to give back a part of what he had received.
Dr. Gupta also mentioned that he wants all alumni to remember what they have been taught at school and dedicate a part of their time towards social service. He would like to urge the alumni to stay connected with their schools and help in any way that they can.
Dr. Ram Manohar Gupta’s dedication towards his school is a source of inspiration to the entire Vidya Bharati alumni community.
