Involvement of the community is a crucial aspect of any developmental activities, schemes or projects for them to be sustainable and successful.The positive outcomes of constructive collaboration are numerous, and far outweigh the potential challenges of coordinating such an effort.
Sachin Gupta, ex student of Saraswati Sishu Mandir Vidhya Vihar Berasia, Madhya Pradesh has always been predisposed towards helping people in need. With the aim of reaching out to a wider range of beneficiaries, Sachin became member of ‘A Blue Sky Education and Social Welfare Society’, which operates on the concept of community involvement for social development.
The organisation was established in the year 2010 with the vision of providing a platform on which like minded people could collectively support those members of the society who are in need.
Few of the programs undertaken by the organisation are as follows:
Food Distribution Program- This aims at feeding the poor, especially children and the elderly who cannot feed themselves . The volunteers donate food for an average of 120 people every Saturday.
Medical Checkup Camp- The members conduct free medical checkup for those who don’t have access to proper treatment.
Plantation Program- This was developed with an aim of environmental protection through tree plantation drives.
Distribution of Kalam Sir Scholarship- Kalam Sir Scholarship Programme provides scholarship ranging from Rs. 200 to Rs. 450 per month to poor and needy students.
Save Girl Child - The organization runs an awareness program on the importance of girl child and need for their proper education.
Training program on stitching and embroidery- In a bid to make economically backward women, self sufficient and independent, they are provided with skill training.
Swachhta Abhiyan Campaign- In lieu with the governmental campaign, the members participate in cleanliness drive.
Education- Under this program, the members took an oath to provide education to young children residing in slum areas.
Clothes Distribution Program- People who are less fortunate and unable to afford basic amenities of life are provided with clothes and blankets by the members.
Mr Gupta, during his tenure as a member of the organisation has participated in scores of developmental programs with the objective of helping the less fortunate to become self reliant.
According to Mr. Gupta, his strong sense of social responsibility is the result of his positive upbringing by his family and his school. He further goes on to thank his school for making him an open minded and positive person.
